If you have oily skin or spots or if your makeup or lotion makes your face oily, listen up! This post is for you!
I recently watched a short video clip on social media about a girl trying out a stone roller for her oily face after she applied makeup. You could definitely tell a difference in her face where she rolled the stone. My last post was all about how much I love using rosehip oil for my face which has worked miracles, but my face has been a bit more oily lately. Not enough to give me acne or anything like that. In fact, it is a welcoming moisture that I have needed for years. It does, however, seem to absorb my face powder a bit more than I would like and it leaves an oily residue. Well, I decided to do a little research on this product for myself to see if it would benefit me and I would like to share what I have found out. Basically, I am ready to make this purchase myself and I hope you will join me!
Here are some reasons I am purchasing this product:
It’s Reusable!
The Revlon Oil Absorbing Volcanic Stone Roller is made of a real ball of volcanic stone. I kind of geek out about volcanic stone because I am a science teacher. Volcanic rocks fascinate my students, so I can bring this little bugger in to show the students. It’s way better than blotting papers and is sustainable. No trash for the landfill and I never have to spend extra money. It’s a one time purchase. It’s easy to clean, too. You just pop the ball out and wash it with warm water and a gentle soap or cleanser. That little ball rolls smoothly across your oily areas and turns your face from oily to matte finish. The smooth rock has little tiny holes (message me if you want me to give you a scientific, geeky explanation – I will do it!) which sucks up all the oil on your face and slaps it on the stone. Cool, huh?
The downside is that it may only last you a few hours before your skin gets all greasy again. That’s OK. It’s better to have this little roll-on in your purse than to have to carry oil absorbing paper everywhere. Just a few rolls over the face and boom! All matte again. Totally worth it. So….buy 2.
It’s easy to clean!
Need to know — the more you use it, the more you need to clean it. This might be a downside for some people, but I like how cost effective it is. If you feel it has stopped sucking up that oil, then wash it. Just be sure it is all the way dry before using it again. I happen to like it this way. The more environmentally friendly, the better the product. No waste is what I like. Yes, I know it’s surrounded in plastic, but you can use this same product for the rest of your life and that’s totally worth it to me. By the way, this puppy has over 16,000 5 star ratings on Amazon! How’s that for a review!
It’s cost effective!
You can buy these just about any place that sells makeup, but I shopped around and found Amazon to be the best deal. Plus, you don’t have to leave home. It can come straight to your door. It sells for a little over $12 on Amazon. That’s a great price, especially when you can use it for years to come.
It’s small enough to fit in your makeup bag or purse – and it’s great for guys, too!
Get two of these beauties if you want to use it throughout the day. One at home and one to go. They make great little gifts for your family and friends, too. I also think these would be great for the oily guys who want to get rid of the oil but don’t want to buy girly face blotting sheets.
Pro’s and Cons of the Revlon Oil Absorbing Volcanic Stone Roller
To me, the pro’s outweigh the cons. I only have one con: you have to wash it, but that only takes a hot minute when it seems to not be working well. Wash it on the weekend or in the early evenings and it will be ready to go when you need it the next day. Also, if you are acne prone, you are going to want to wash it very frequently to be sure you aren’t spreading germs everywhere.
Pro’s – did you read the article? Huh? Go back. Nothing but Pro’s here! This product gets awesome reviews, it’s sustainable, doesn’t pollute the environment and doesn’t end up in the trash.
I’d like to mention that my husband always says “You get what you pay for.” There are tons of brands of stone rollers out there that you can use, but like many people, I like to go with what has the best reviews and that’s why I am sticking to the Revlon Oil Absorbing Volcanic Stone Roller.
Leave a comment if you have one and tell us what you like about it. Hit me up if you have questions. I would love to hear what you think about the Revlon stone roller.
